Letter received from Eric 27 December, 2010
Well it's "P" Day and so far .... Oh there is a sister in my district from Fiji Hermana Milani. Then there is Hermana Beck and Hermana Brown they are rather funny and a part of what I started to call "Mi familia de C.C.M" if you don't know what that means let me know and I'll tell you. All the Elders in my district are funny as well. I am the only one in my district going foreign except Hermana Milani. I won't be able to send hardly any emails so send me mail real letters

Email I received from Eric Christmas Day.
I have to tell you something my camera it messed up. and Thank you for every thing. Monkey face for Bethany, some luck for Beck, some cake for Jessica & Miriam. thinking of every one.
ok for people, Mariah, Yes there are sisters in my district, to Nichole, Where are the pics from the girls I miss them, to Diana, stop dancing so much you look crazy you know who wont ask you out if he thinks your crazy, to mom, thank you for all you've done, to daddy, I may not be there to help but I have given you 18 years now I must give the lord 2 I'll be home after my work is done, to all my friends, I am doing well when will you be out here your self???????, to everyone, l would like some letters so please send me some not just from dear elder.com

Letter from Eric Dated 19 Dec. 2010
Hello Everyone How are things? I am doing really well. today we had a fireside and we sang praise to the man and after the song was over I found out we weren't supposed to stand up to sing. But I could not help myself. The fireside was an Joseph Smith it was very good.
I really would like some letters from everyone there in Carthage and Nauvoo. I'm the only one going to Canada Vancouver Spanish and the only one from Hancock county. Please suggest people send Pictures as well as letters. Well got to go Night. Elder Eric Ziegler

It's a Small world
I received this from My friend Kari Beagley, it was from her son Jared who just left the MTC for his mission in Costa Rica.
"I just got a call from Jared. He was in Houston catching his connecting flight to Costa Rica. His travel "guide" gave him about 3 minutes to make a phone call. One of the first things he said was "Hey! I was with Eric Ziegler at the MTC. I was his host!" I thought that was really cool! Tell me again where Eric is going? Our thoughts and prayers are with him, and all of you!"
You must understand Jared and Eric were friends when we lived in Montana. They were in Scouts together. They were in our ward at church. how fun to see a friend again. if I get a picture of the two of them at the MTC I will post it.
I received a letter today from Eric. Yeah!

Hello Mommy, The MTC is great so far. The food is wonderful, Not as bad as I was told and the orange juice is just fine. I have told many Elders about Chia and they seam very interested. I wanted to tell you that I've seen and spoken to Elder Jared Beagley. We'll be getting some pictures taken to send home. He leaves on Monday the 20th.. He to is Spanish speaking. I love you all and I don't really miss anyone yet. then again I haven't gotten a letter from any one save Mariah so you need to chastise everyone for me. Well I look forward to everyone's letters. Love you all .

Elder Eric Eugene Ziegler
Called to serve in the Canada, Vancouver Mission for The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. He will be Teaching in the Spanish language.
December 15, 2010 - December 2012
Today Eric departed Saint Louis airport bound for Provo, Utah Missionary training center(MTC) of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. His Entry Date is Wednesday The 15th.
Let me back up a few days before I continue.
Wednesday the 8th. we held a small open house for those who wished to stop by and say farewell and wish Eric luck on his mission. Thank you to all who attended it was a great evening.
Thursday the 9th. Eric was set apart by our Stake President , President Gilchrist. He gave
Eric some great council as well. it was a great evening. The one thing that stood out to Don was the importance of being obedient. For me, Jo Ellen, it was to learn to Love the people and his companions to go the extra mile for them.
As soon as Eric was set apart Don put his old missionary name tag on him. He is still wearing it and will until he gets his new one at the MTC. Then he will mail Don's back to him.
Friday afternoon Don, Elder Ziegler and I (Jo Ellen) left for Saint Louis where we stayed the night. This morning we went to the Saint Louis Temple and did some Temple work there. Then it was off to the Airport. I can not lie I shed a tear or two. I said to Don he is leaving as a boy but he will come back as a Man. He will grow and learn so much in the next 2 years.
Mariah and Kyle Stewart (Eric's sister and brother in law) picked him up from the Airport and he will be staying with them for the next few days.
